Unigen Launches Unigen Beauty; Director of Cosmeceutical Bioactives Joins Team
Tacoma, Washington-January 9, 2023: Unigen has announced the launch of Unigen Beauty, the company’s cosmeceutical ingredient division comprised of clinically proven, patented, and naturally derived bioactives. This unique portfolio offers a diverse line of novel cosmetic ingredients for skin health and beauty derived from Unigen’s Phytologix® Platform, a combination of nature, science, traditional medicinal botanicals, and dermatological screening technology.
Dr. Qi Jia, President and CEO of Unigen, states that “Unigen has extensive experience and industry reputation in the commercialization of natural bioactives such as Nivitol (UP302) in premier global brands of even skin tone products. Additionally, Unigen is excited to welcome Anne W. Young, PhD, as the newly appointed Director of Cosmeceutical Bioactives. Dr. Young will lead business development and global sales of Unigen Beauty, discovery and development of Unigen’s cosmeceutical ingredient portfolio and pipeline. She brings extensive knowledge of global Personal and Skin Care bioactives, finished product brands and trends, customer needs and industry connections.

Dr. Young graduated with her M.S. and PhD in Chemistry from NYU Graduate School of Arts and Science. She started her career in the Personal Care Industry in 2010 as a Senior Scientist at Johnson & Johnson Consumer & Personal Products where she led several new product development initiatives. Her depth of experience includes raw material portfolio management at L’Oréal USA and new business development of everything from global accounts to Indie brands for BASF, Vantage and Expanscience Laboratoires. Additionally, Dr. Young has served on the Biotech INCI committee and filed several patents pertaining to the use of bioactive peptides in the Cosmetic Industry.
